Whiteboard to Boardroom

Whiteboard to Boardroom LogoThe Whiteboard to Boardroom (W2B) project was established in September 2009 with three-year funding ($600,000) from the National Science Foundation’s Partnerships for Innovation program.

The project created a bi-state partnership of regional colleges and universities that sought to:

  • Build on the core values of teaching and learning in our educational institutions to advance discovery and to generate economic benefits derived from commercialization
  • Develop a sustainable technology commercialization process that will make a vital contribution to the region's economy
  • Establish sustaining partnerships between educational institutions, non-profit business development organizations, and the private sector

The program started as a partnership between the University of Missouri - Kansas City Innovation Center, University of Kansas Center for Technology Commercialization, William Jewell College and Johnson County Community College.

Then a lot more people wanted to get involved.
